Its been irritating me a little while, this thing called the ‘depressionist movement’. Apparently Michel Houellebecq accidentally sired this new literary and artistic game that critiques society from the standpoint of placing it’s most dismal, depressing topography into stark relief. But as far as I can see this appellation doesn’t apply in any real way but probably describes a mood. Are there any self-identified ‘depressionist’ authors, artists or publications that some kind and probably highly attractive reader would like to point me towards?
